The Teen Support Group

Open generally to eleven- to sixteen-year-olds, this group meets every other Thursday evening at the Rosemont Counseling Associates in the Rosemont Plaza Apartments, Suite 9, 1062 Lancaster Avenue, Rosemont, Pennsylvania. It brings together young people with obsessive-compulsive disorder and associated difficulties. In a safe and caring environment, these youngsters see clearly that they are not alone. Under the guidance of a professional, they get to know one another and share their struggles, strategies, and feelings. They also learn about their strengths. Some expected outcomes include increased self-acceptance and self-appreciation along with a boost in motivation to continue the difficult battle of gaining control over OCD and other aspects of their lives. As the group develops cohesiveness, small and individualized therapeutic goals are solicited. In all areas, individuals are encouraged to share and move at their own pace and level of comfort.  For more information telephone Judy Kolman at 610-525-1510.
